SIU to probe corruption at KZN Film Commission

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) is set to investigate allegations of maladministration, corruption, and fraud within the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission (KZNFC). This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa authorized an investigation into the commission's procurement practices, especially regarding partnerships and investments with KZN Studios. The investigation aims to uncover any unauthorized, irregular, or wasteful expenditures and will also look into any unlawful conduct by KZNFC officials, suppliers, or service providers. This probe covers conduct from July 1, 2017, to March 22, 2024, and any related incidents outside this timeframe. The SIU plans to make systematic recommendations and refer any evidence of criminal conduct to the National Prosecuting Authority for further action [oai_citation:1,SIU to probe corruption at KZN Film Commission | SAnews](https://www.sanews.gov.za/south-africa/siu-probe-corruption-kzn-film-commission).
