The new normal has seen a lot of people being isolated from the people they worked with, socialised with, or simply lived with. Coming together for a breath of fresh air and some fun activities has become essential to boost positivity and promote physical activity.
Taking into consideration the effect that the lockdown has had on the mental health of many employees, it was a day to revive the team spirit and positive reinforcements for Saiba staff members.
Since working from the office is a thing of the past, it has not been easy for colleagues to see and interact with each other except via video calling from different platforms. It has however affected the day-to-day interaction of everyone and to curb the endless isolation.
As part of corporate wellness, it is highly recommended to have your staff members on team building activities to improve their productivity, build morale and revive their creativity.
In the spirit of love and appreciation this February, Saiba hosted a pre-Valentine’s day celebration on Friday 12 February to allow an opportunity to step away from their screens and enjoy a day outdoors.
The day started at Groenkloof Nature Reserve with a 3.5km hike through breath-taking scenery, providing staff an opportunity to reconnect while exercising in nature.
This was followed with a drive to The Blue Crane restaurant and bar for lunch and drinks. It was a chance to meet up with friends and colleagues in one of the most beautiful spots in the country. This much is for sure: during this time of remote work, an occasional get-together for social interaction and exercise is the best office therapy there is. All the staff members left with a smile on their faces and a little valentine’s day gift courtesy of Saiba.
