South African Institute of Business Accountants (Saiba) staff headed out to the Tshepang Care Centre in Tembisa near Johannesburg on Thursday 18 July to bring a touch of joy to children and orphans in dire need of assistance.
Mandela Day has become a national day of sacrifice and sharing. It is celebrated each year in a uniquely South African way: where staff and volunteers venture out of their comfort zones to bring a little joy – and assistance – to those in need.
“Saiba is all about making a difference and, no matter how small your action, Mandela Day is about changing the world for the better, just as Nelson Mandela did every day,” says Saiba CEO Nicolaas van Wyk.
“Saiba has identified a child care home in Tembisa that needs assistance with various items and we decided to extend a helping hand to them.”
The Tshepang Care Centre assists approximately 250 children of all ages from the community with meals before and after school, they also have a creche that they offer the community.
“The home has sent us a wish list and Saiba will be putting together a contribution from the company as well as from our staff,” says van Wyk.
You can get involved by committing to contribute towards this worthy cause. You could deliver items from the wishlist (see link below) to Saiba offices or hand over your contribution in person to the Tshepang care centre.
