The emphasis on team building is a big part of the Saiba culture. As a professional accounting body, Saiba decided during the Covid lockdowns of 2020 to hold regular staff outings as a way let employees catch a breather, reconnect with colleagues, and relieve them of the daily stressors and isolation.
This month Saiba’s staff members spent a day together at the National Botanical Gardens in Pretoria, well known for its rare plants and wide open spaces.
After meeting in the morning, the team took a walk before deciding to explore the garden and its wonderful plants from around the world. The garden is truly a national treasure, full of aloe and succulents, with birds and other wildlife frolicking in the winter sun.
After the brief walk, the team gathered and started with some refreshments. Saiba CEO, Nicolaas van Wyk, had a brief talk with the staff. He thanked everyone for making effort to attend, most importantly he praised the team for their efforts and hard work during these trying times. “I would like to thank every one of you, for always being in high spirits. I also acknowledge the efforts of the managers, I hope you continue to make sure that everyone under your management is happy because that means our members will be happy as well. As Saiba, we want to see everyone grow their careers and we are willing to invest in that growth and lead you to it. Keep working hard and remain dedicated to what you do. You are doing a great job.”
After having brunch over chats and catching up with each other, the team bade farewell to each other, looking refreshed, smiling and ready to tackle what the next day brings.
