Use tax season to sell other services

Nobody will argue that tax season is a busy time for accountants, but it is prime time to strengthen client relationships and set yourself and your firm up for success during the rest of the year.

By cross-selling services, accounting firms can increase profits, without taking on more clients, says Closs. “The season provides an excellent opportunity to show your clients that you can help them make sense of their financial information and can help them use it to make better business decisions.”

Three easy ways to offer additional value are to make information understandable to the client, make sure the information is useful to each client and to place it in context with regard to company goals or to previous performance.
