Update on Reinstatement Process for Deregistered Companies

The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) re-issued Notice 16 of 2018 relating to the reinstatement process for deregistered companies and close corporations. According to Regulation 40(6) of the Companies Regulation, 2011, to reinstate a deregistered entity, all outstanding annual returns must be filed.

Please Note: A company or close corporation that does not file its outstanding annual returns within 30 business days after their form CoR40.5 is processed will be automatically returned to final deregistration status.

If an entity wishes to continue its reinstatement afterward, it must resubmit form CoR40.5 along with all necessary documents and file the required annual returns within the specified timeframe.

For guidance on filing annual returns and related fees, visit the CIPC website and explore the available step-by-step guides.

For queries, use the alternative processes as per CIPC Notice.
