FIC Urgent Reminder: Submit Your RMCP by March 12
The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) has issued an urgent notice to all accountable institutions to submit their Risk Management and Compliance Programme (RMCP) by close of business, 12 March 2025.
Who must comply?
All accountants who offer services to register and administer companies and trust fall withing the definition of Item 2. of Schedule 1: Company and Trust Service Provider. These accountants MUST register with the FIC as an accountable institution. If you unsure, read more guidance in CIBA’s FIC registration and reporting guide. This notice is also applicable to legal practitioners, estate agents, gambling institutions, credit providers, high-value goods dealers, crypto asset service providers, and others providing services listed in Schedule 1 of the FIC Act.
Submission Method
Upload RMCPs via the goAML web platform. The RMCP must be submitted following the steps below:
Save the latest version of your RMCP document in PDF format on your computer with the following filename YYYYMMDD_RMCP.pdf (YYYYMMDD must reflect the date of approval of your latest RMCP). For example, 20250304_RMCP.pdf.
Log on to goAML, using the URL: https://goweb.fic.gov.za/goAMLWeb_PRD/Home.
Click on the “MY GOAML” Dropdown Menu.
Click on “My Org Details”.
Scroll down to the “Attachment” section and click on the “Upload” button.
Browse to where you have saved your RMCP document on your computer and click on “Open”.
Click on “Submit Request”.
Click on “Continue” – which is the last step in your RMCP submission to the FIC.
This action was necessitated due to very low compliance levels (11 -13%) trust and company service providers.
Failure to comply may result in enforcement actions. Check your goAML message board daily for updates.
