SARS Customs Updates

Updated Rules on Supporting Documents for Registration

SARS has updated the Documentary Requirements Annexure (SC-CF-19-A01) for Customs and Excise registration. Previously, there was no clear alternative for clients who couldn’t provide certain mandatory documents. The annexure now includes clarified alternatives for missing documents and updates to the definitions and acronyms table to make the requirements easier to understand and apply.

📌 Tip: Review these changes if you have clients registering or updating their Customs or Excise details.

Facilities Code List Updated

The Customs & Excise Facilities Code List has also been updated following the relocation of Bidfreight Port Operations (Pty) Ltd from Durban to Port Elizabeth harbour.

📌 Tip: If you work with imports/exports through these ports, be sure to update client records to reflect this change in location and code.
