PAIA Compliance Reports 2024/25 Due by 30 June 2025
The Information Regulator of South Africa has announced that public and private bodies must submit their Annual Reports on access to information requests for the 2024-2025 reporting period. The submission window opens on 1 April 2025 and closes on 30 June 2025.
Who Must Submit Reports?
Public Bodies: Information Officers (IOs) must report on all access to information requests received and processed.
Private Bodies: Heads of Private Bodies (HPBs) or Deputy Information Officers (DIOs) must submit reports on requests for records processed under the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA).
How to Submit?
Online via the eServices portal: https://eservices.inforegulator.org.za. Submission will open on 1 April 2025.
Register your organisation first – Reports cannot be submitted unless the Information Officer or Head of Private Body is registered.

What Accountants Need to Do
Ensure client organisations are registered with the Regulator before attempting submission.
Advise businesses and public entities on completing their compliance reports early to avoid last-minute issues.
Monitor PAIA compliance in your clients' organisations to ensure requests are processed correctly.
The deadline for reports is 30 June 2025 – Non-compliance may result in penalties.
