UIF Online Services Restored
As of 17 October 2024, the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) has restored all its online services following a six-week disruption. Accountants can now assist clients with UIF claims, payments, and other services through uFiling, the UIF USSD service (134843#), and the data-free UIF Mobile App.
This disruption, which started at the end of August, impacted many UIF users. Minister Nomakhosazana Meth expressed gratitude to clients for their patience and reassured the public that measures are being put in place to avoid future disruptions.
For accountants the work begins now with ensuring that clients are aware of the restored services and assist with any backlogged claims.
