New Customer Verification Process Announced by CIPC
The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) issued Customer Notice 18 of 2024 introducing a new customer verification process. Aiming to enhance the security of customer accounts this process applies to both South African ID holders and foreign passport holders.
Verification Process for South African ID Holders:
Log in using existing credentials on CIPC platforms.
Complete the verification page by providing mandatory information.
Update your password according to the minimum requirements presented.
Update contact details if necessary.
Confirm the new password and click "update."
Verify the account by clicking the link sent to the registered email.
Log in successfully once verification is complete.
Verification Process for Foreign Passport Holders:
Log in using existing credentials on CIPC platforms.
Provide mandatory information on the verification page and follow password requirements.
If passport details are missing from the CIPC database, complete the Foreigner Assurance process via the provided link.
Return after 48 hours to proceed with the steps above.
Update contact details if needed.
Verify the account using the link sent to the registered email.
Log in successfully upon completion of the process.
