Dedicated SARS Service Channel for Tax Practitioners
The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has improved its Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system providing for a dedicated service channel that can only be access by verified practitioners. Follow the steps below to have quicker access to queues dedicated to tax practitioners, improved service efficiency, and an overall enhanced interaction with SARS.
Dial the SARS IVR number: Start by dialing 0800 00 7277 and select menu option 1 to access the Tax Practitioner IVR.
Authenticate Yourself: Enter your SARS Practitioner number followed by the hash key, then your South African ID number, also followed by the hash key. This ensures you’re recognized as a legitimate Tax Practitioner.
Authenticate Your Client’s Details: Input your client’s tax reference number and South African ID number, each followed by the hash key.
