Export Permit Requirement Update

SARS updated the Prohibited and Restricted Imports and Exports list to include the following items that now require an export permit from ITAC (International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa):

  • 7403.12 – Wire-bars

  • 7403.13 – Billets

  • 7403.19 – Other

  • 7403.21 – Copper-zinc base alloys (brass)

  • 7403.22 – Copper-tin base alloys (bronze)

  • 7403.29 – (Pending clarification)

Exporters must obtain the necessary permits before shipping these goods. Failure to comply may result in delays or detainment of shipments by customs.
