SARS Temporarily Reinstates Old Donations Tax Form

Taxpayers facing challenges with the current IT144 Donations Tax declaration form can now use the previous PDF version until improvements are made. SARS, in line with its objective to provide clarity and certainty, has reinstated the older form to simplify the process.

Donations tax applies to the complimentary disposal of property, with rates at 20% for amounts below R30 million and 25% for amounts above R30 million. Donors must submit the IT144 form to SARS after making a donation.
